About 3Duncle

Hello everyone, I'm Uncle 3D, founder of 3Duncle.com.
Here I would like to share with you the birth of 3Duncle.

It began in 2020. It was a special year in which people's families, career paths, and lives began to change. We've heard enough about the suffering that came with COVID-19, and I'm glad we're over the mountain. Next I want to share a special story with you.

This story took place during the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. It was my niece's birthday on March 28, she was 4 years old that year and her birthday wish was to get an Elsa doll. This wish would not come true, not a single shop was open outside. The last time I saw her she was 2 years old and still didn't know how to say "uncle." 2020 was the first time my niece called me "uncle" and slurred her words telling me she wanted an Elsa doll. Dude will get you one! Uncle will get you an Elsa doll!

I called my friends to see if they had one, but still nothing. I decided to make my own doll. Sew with fabric? I don't know how to sew. Carve it out of wood? I probably couldn't carve a doll. While I was debating what material to make it with, I thought about a 3D printer. "That's it!"

So the 3D printer started up, I adjusted the parameters 3 times to get the most realistic model of Elsa and asked my wife to make her a dress. On my lovely niece's birthday, she received the Elsa doll she wanted. I took a photo of her smiling innocently with the doll and shared the story with my friends, wanting to show that, in such a cruel context, we can still try to do something to make those around us smile a little more.

Little by little, many people asked me to print some gifts for their children. That's when I realized, "Hey, I can do more with a 3D printer! I can do more things with a 3D printer." I printed Batman, cars, trains and other toys for toddlers, chess and go for seniors, and even a bunch of household items. I don't know who, but I became "3D Uncle", the guy who used 3D printers to bring them entertainment, laughter and happiness.

As COVID-19 became more controlled, Uncle's "work" gradually decreased. My passion for 3D printers grew and I wanted to spread the joy and enthusiasm for the infinite possibilities of 3D printing. So I created 3Duncle.com.
